Why did Blue Ridge Mountain Security partner with EMC Security?

Blue Ridge Mountain Security elected to partner with EMC Security to provide its Members with additional resources that come with a dedicated security organization. For example, 24-hour technical support, access to home automation products and services, enterprise level commercial and industrial security products, and simultaneous monitoring centers.

Will my security account still be managed and serviced locally?

Yes. EMC Security has entered into a long-term lease for space in the existing Blue Ridge Mountain EMC headquarters in Young Harris, GA. The local security personnel will remain in the area, and will still be providing the same great service our Members have come to expect and enjoy.

When will my account transfer?

Blue Ridge Mountain EMC and EMC Security staff are working diligently to ensure that all accounts will transfer to EMC Security on May 1. At such time, the account will be monitored by EMC Security, and any contacts concerning the security system will need to be handled through EMC Security. See contact info in the "Who do I need to call if I need something?" question.

Will my rate change?

No, there are currently no plans to change the monitoring rate.

Where do I send my payment now?

Who is monitoring my system now?

As of May 1, 2018, EMC Security is monitoring your system with their exclusive Secure Path monitoring architecture. Secure Path is a fully redundant monitoring service, which receives alarm signals at three (3) fully-staffed monitoring stations located in different geographic locations. This ensures that customers receive the best protection possible with no interruptions or delays should an outage occur, while providing the fastest response time - in seconds, not minutes.

Do I need to do anything to make sure my system is still being monitored?

You do not need to do anything to make the transition from Blue Ridge Mountain Security to EMC Security. EMC Security does recommend, however, that you test your system on a monthly basis to ensure it is ready in case of an emergency. Instructions can be found on its website at www.emcsecurity.com.

How long has EMC Security been in business?

EMC Security was founded in 1998 and services more than 51,000 homes and businesses throughout north Georgia.
